A New Iberia Man was arrested in Iberia Parish on May 7 for multiple drug offenses after he fled from Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents on April 30.

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections’ Division of Probation and Parole arrested Allen J. Toucheck Sr., 55, in Loreauville and booked him into the Iberia Parish Jail. The Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections’ Division of Probation and Parole also had an outstanding arrest warrant for Toucheck Sr. from 2023 for failing to report.

LDWF agents were on patrol near the Bayou Benoit Boat Launch when they came into contact with Toucheck Sr. in the process of loading his vessel onto his trailer around 10 p.m. on April 30. Agents found Toucheck Sr. in possession of illegal drugs and a loaded .38 caliber revolver.

After further investigation, agents found Toucheck Sr. was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, a vial of suspected heroin, suspected marijuana, a working digital scale with methamphetamine residue on it, a syringe, and multiple fake identification cards.

Agents then acquired an arrest warrant for Toucheck Sr. for second offense possession of a firearm in the presence of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in the presence of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer, flight from an officer, and possession of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana with intent to distribute.

Second offense of possession of a firearm in the presence of methamphetamine brings up to a $500 fine and six years in jail.
